Region Hovedstaden, Vitani Security and Partisia are collaborating to digitalise the management of identity, consent and access at the New Hospital Bispebjerg construction project.
The solution connects verifiable digital credentials, AltID and physical access control in one combined process. Employees and external partners can be registered, identified and approved digitally before they arrive at the construction site.

“On a construction project of this size, it is crucial that we have control over who has access to the construction site. With the digital solution, we can handle identification, registration and consent in advance, which provides a better, more secure overview and more efficient access management.”
From registration to access
When an employee or partner needs access to the construction site, the necessary information is registered in the contractor management system. Then an employee verifies their identity using, for example, AltID from Digitaliseringsstyrelsen, a verifiable digital proof is issued, and GDPR consent is handled digitally.
Once consent has been given, the digital identity can be used for check-in and access to the relevant areas of the construction site. In this way, identity, consent and access control are brought together in one coherent process.
Ready for new requirements in the construction industry
The solution is being launched at the same time as the requirements for identification and documentation on Danish construction sites are being tightened. The bill that has been put forward on ID cards on construction sites is to strengthen the documentation of who works on the country’s construction sites.
The introduction of digital identity at New Hospital Bispebjerg is to support future requirements for secure identification and access management. The solution will be implemented over the next six months and will then become part of the construction site’s permanent access solution.
AltID as a verification layer
As part of the solution, the employee’s identity can be verified through AltID, Denmark’s official app for digital IDs and proofs. At the same time, AltID is part of the implementation of the European digital identity wallet under eIDAS 2.0.
eIDAS 2.0 is a common European trust layer for verified identity and credentials, not a new ID card in an app. AltID is part of Denmark’s implementation of it.

The collaboration between Region Hovedstaden, Vitani Security and Partisia demonstrates how digital identity and physical access control can be integrated in practice and create a more secure, efficient and future-proof management of access on construction sites.
